Hi Big Benchas! Would it make sense (for the strength increase on the bench press) to do the close grip bench press with the 1-2s break on the chest (the negative part of the movement)? Thanks!
Its embarrassing but it had tsken me years to get my set up like yours..It takes more off your stroke & more importantly for as you said, stability & the weight flew ..I literally had a 25 lb PR in that meet..
It's always been the way I've looked at it no matter what milestone I've been at.. Brilliant advice

Still not working, I’m not able to get the leg drive I get with lifting my butt or the bench please help, I push feet into the floor for my leg drive, how do I get that force without taking my butt off the bench??higher arch?
I find for some reason that im way stronger from a pause, i just cant seem to generate the same synchronised power from a touch and go.. not sure what im doing wrong

Its coming again/ geared lifting. Mostly thru bandshirts ( F8, Overkill & also mighty Inzer ). So whats your opinion on bandshirts? Ever tried the Forell F8 or the Overkill Reaoer!

My pain only start when I go 405 on the bench press or 325 on bent over rows and it’s unbearable then it will herring for about 30 minutes and die down but hopefully the video should help
Man, thank you coach Ben! This did it for me. This whole time I thought I was properly retracting and tucking my scapula in my “back pocket”. I was over doing this tucking which cause my scapula to detract. Felt the pump on my chest for the first time 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

As a bodybuilder i train in three week waves I would do three weeks of incline bench three weeks of flat bench and three weeks of decline bench i train everything three times a week but i would bench once a week this has gotten me alot stronger in the bench press

How do we unrack when u can only do it at the low setting? I feel like im losing some form bcuz i cant unrack properly

Hey man, any techniques for us short kings? The height i have to bench at leaves my arms almost at a 90 degree angle when unracking. The next level up is just a tad too high, where my arms are stretched almost all the way out. Plz help
The next height up is too high for me, but where im at, is too low i feel.
When doing leg drive, does our heels have to be planted as well, or is it only our toes that need to be planted?
What is the closest grip allowed in powerlifting?
My only issue is when I keep my head planted on the pad, I get neck pain the next day, right at the base of the skull.
If your a female benching 315, then your on roids.
Close grip trains more triceps and less chest and wide grip trains more shoulder and chest and less triceps
it will work but it will take away from my upper body gains...... won't it?
Not really, if anything it will lead to more gains because of the increased motor recruitment

Bench press is not just a movement. Bench press is a science, bench press is a religion bench press is an art bench press is all.
Rack heights are so bad in most commercial gyms. And you can't change it like a power rack.
That back is incredibly huge and massive.
That back makes the arms loo like coiled springs.

Goes back to what evry great bencher knows to do and its simple...always stay tight in position & never ever let it go

Mike 10 years ago i was so confused about my double super katana cause last 13 competition lifts i just was a bit from touching w 700.. my raw bench competition was 465..i wanna do this again.. Should i have added more weight cause i know i could have handled more as everyine in Gatlinburg told me no..I loved the shirt but should i have just tried SDP shirt ?? I really hope someone who knows would help me..I would open raw then last 2 tries was with shirt..
Close grip is easier
I went from little arch at 60kg to hip in the air at 100kg now. Can't really fix it
